Office papers as PDF

A clerk adds a Word, Excel or PowerPoint file to a meeting or an agenda item. decidiq turns it into a PDF within a few minutes. Members read the PDF, so nobody needs the right Office app and everyone sees the same layout. The original stays next to it for the secretariat.

What happens when you add a paper

  1. Add the file to the Documents of an agenda item or a meeting.
  2. decidiq asks filinq to convert it in the background. The upload does not wait for it.
  3. The PDF appears beside the original. The Papers as PDF widget shows the paper once, as its PDF.

The meeting package bundles the PDF, not the Office file.

When a conversion fails

The original stays as it was. The widget shows the reason, for example "Not converted: no backend could convert this file". The chair and the secretary see Try again next to it.

Switch it off

An administrator opens the decidiq admin settings and turns off Convert Word, Excel and PowerPoint papers to PDF when they are added. New papers then stay as they are added.

Conversion needs filinq. Without it, the admin settings say so and papers stay as they are added.
